What to Expect
How should I dress? Most people dress casually, but mostly just wear whatever's comfortable.
What about my children or young people? We love having children and young people in Church. Our Church doubles as a Play Café meaning we have a soft play and toys out during services, and genuinely, nobody minds your kids using them and being noisy! We also run a "Sunday School" Kids' Group at our 10:30am service for 5-11yrs. If you have young people (11-16yrs) we have a great youth group on Sunday Nights at 7pm!
How long are the services? Our 10:30am service lasts about 1hr 30mins.
What are services like? We're pretty casual and chatty so don't be surprised if people talk during services or shout out during the talk - it's part of what makes us a community. You'll also find modern, upbeat worship music, passionate prayers, and plenty of time and space for us to engage with each other and with God.
Do you serve refreshments? Welcome and hospitality are important to us so we always have free food and drink at all our services. If you need a top-up midway through the service, go for it! Nobody minds.
Arriving
When should I arrive? In short, whenever you want to, we'd rather you were here than not! To be honest with you, most of our Church run late and so we often start our services 5-10 minutes later than planned.
Where is the Church? Hope Family Church: Washington, Brancepeth Road, Oxclose, Washington, NE38 0LA.
Where should I park? Free parking is available on-site in our Car Park, including Disabled Spaces.
Where do I go when I arrive? Head through the gates in our church wall and straight ahead into the Foyer where somebody will be on hand waiting to welcome you.
