Enjoy our play facilities, grab a latte, or get some lunch at our Cafe! You’ll find a fun atmosphere, hearty home-cooked food, and a warm welcome, with a charge of just £2 per family for entry!

We want to keep the Cafe as accessible as possible for everybody in our community, and so entry is just £2 per family! You don’t need to pay per child, just per family, and you even get a free hot drink included in the price! Also, you can stay as long as you like!

Whether you’re dropping by for coffee and cake, or looking to get a fully-cooked lunch, The Ark Play Cafe is a great place to bring the family and hang out! We’ll also have a delicious weekly special and a range of cakes and sweet treats! Also, if you have any dietary requirements or would just like to mix and match parts of meals, just let us know and we’ll do what we can!

Other Activities

Toddlers

Bring the little ones to our Church Toddler Group every Monday and Thursday during term-time, from 9:30-11am. Each sessions starts with free time to play (including on our soft play) before we stop for a story, some songs, and a snack. Anybody is welcome, you don’t need to book, and all we ask for is a small donation towards hot drinks and bacon sandwiches where possible.

Community Hub

With support from Sunderland City Council, we’re open every weekday from 11am – 4pm, offering free soup, tea, and filter coffee to anyone who needs it!

Community Walk

Join our Curate, Anita, for a short walk around Washington before stopping by the Cafe for a drink. Meet at 1:30pm in the Foyer.
